Automated Frequently Bought Together Products

See how Wiser shows frequently bought together products

Frequently bought together products widget in Wiser shows the products from your store, which were purchased earlier by the customers together in same order.

For this, we analyze your store orders from last 30 to 40 days and calculate the frequently bought together products from the orders.

You can configure the products shown in this widget based on various conditions like products which shares same collection, tags, vendor or even set that manually as well.

How do I show Related Products based on product tags, collections, vendor or type?

Go to the app in admin, click on Related Products in left panel and there you will find the option to update the selection criteria for Related Products.

What is the difference between Top Selling & Trending Products?

The products which were sold most comes under top selling, In this we compare product sales from the other products sales in last 2 weeks.

The products which has a growth in their own sales from last 2 weeks comes under trending products, In this we compare a product's sales from its own sale of last 2 weeks.

How to hide products from the wiser app widgets?

To hide the specific products from the widgets, please follow these steps:"

Go to Wiser app dashboard and click on "Exclude Products" tab from left panel. Please enter the product name which you want to hide and click on the "Add Product" button."

Please note: When you hide a product it will hide for all the widgets by Wiser except "Recently Viewed".

Analytics: Overview

Analytics give you an overview about the sales generated, no.of clicks & conversion rate through Wiser. It gives you clear picture of overall sales by Wiser and shows you statistics.

Sales Generated by Wiser:

This will give you statistics of overall performance of the Wiser.

Wiser Generated Sales: The share of sales generated by Wiser.

Total Clicks: No. of clicks on the products shown in Wiser widgets.

Conversion Rate: Conversion rate is the ratio of sales generated from Wiser widgets as compared to the clicks on the products of Wiser widgets.

Added To Cart: No. of products added to cart through Wiser widgets.

Sales By Pages:

Here we show the sales generated by Wiser widgets which were placed on store pages as shown below:

Cart Page: It shows the sales generated on the cart page by Wiser widgets.

Thank You Page: It shows the sales generated on the thank you page by Wiser widgets.

Home Page: It shows the sales generated on the homepage by Wiser widgets.

Product Page: It shows the sales generated on the product pages by Wiser widgets.

Collection Page: It shows the sales generated on the collection pages by Wiser widgets.

Other Pages: It shows the sales generated on the other pages by Wiser widgets.

Sales By Widgets:

Overall sales generated by each Wiser widget.

Top Selling Products: When a user clicks a product shown in top selling products widget of wiser app and then purchase that product, we call it a sales generated by top selling widget of Wiser.

Trending Products: When a user clicks a product shown in trending products products widget of wiser app and then purchase that product, we call it a sales generated by trending products widget of Wiser.

New Arrivals: When a user clicks a product shown in new arrivals products widget of wiser app and then purchase that product, we call it a sales generated by new arrivals widget of Wiser.

Featured Collections: When a user clicks a product shown in featured collections widget of wiser app and then purchase that product, we call it a sales generated by featured collections widget of Wiser.

Recently Viewed Products: When a user clicks a product shown in recently viewed products widget of wiser app and then purchase that product, we call it a sales generated by recently viewed widget of Wiser.

Recommended Products: When a user clicks a product shown in recommended products products widget of wiser app and then purchase that product, we call it a sales generated by recommended products widget of Wiser.

Related Products: When a user clicks a product shown in related products widget of wiser app and then purchase that product, we call it a sales generated by related products widget of Wiser.

Also Bought Products: When a user clicks a product shown in also bought products widget of wiser app and then purchase that product, we call it a sales generated by also bought widget of Wiser.

Performance Statistics:

Order Amount: It shows the order amount generated of each date by Wiser.

Total Clicks: It shows the no. of clicks on the products of each date through Wiser widgets.

Wiser Generated Orders:

It gives you detail about the order generated through Wiser. It provides order Id of the product which has bought, the date and amount of it.

How do I analyze which widgets are performing well for our store?

You can monitor the performance of the widgets in Analytics section of the app where it shows sales generated by each widget and also shows the sales generated by app on different pages of store.

Which orders do you consider as Wiser generated sales?

All the orders which were created by clicking on the products shown in Wiser widgets are considered as Wiser generated sales. Although we don't count the refunded orders.

Can I get statistics summary on my email?

Wiser app automatically sends performance statistics by email to all users on every Monday. Check screenshot of the email below:

GemPages and Wiser Integration

Display product recommendations on custom pages with the GemPages and Wiser integration

We know how important it is for your Shopify store to sometimes set up custom pages to promote new launches, deals, discounts and sales. But getting the most out of these pages is what we wanted to enable.

Our app, Wiser for product recommendations now integrates with a popular page builder app for Shopify stores, GemPages.

This will enable you to display our product recommendation widgets like similar products, related items, frequently bought together products, top-selling items and more, on the new pages you set up.

Before you start, you need to ensure you have both the apps:

  • GemPages Page Builder & Funnel
  • Wiser Personalized Recommendations

When using GemPages, you can add recommendations following these steps:

1. Click on ‘Library’ within GemPages.

2. On the ‘Library’ page, click on ‘Elements’.

3. Search for ‘Wiser’.

. Here, you’ll find two kinds of elements that match your requirements:

  • Wiser – Products & Collection Page: This module is oriented to show product recommendations on the Product page and Collection page
  • Wiser – Custom Pages: This module can show product recommendations on all types of page

5. Click on the element you want to use. You can then click on the button ‘Add Element’ to be able to use it when building your page.

6. Now, you can drag and drop the recommendation element from the left sidebar of your page editor.

7. When you drop it onto the page, you will be shown a new settings menu where you can choose the widget you want to use and customize the design of the widget.

How the PageFly and Wiser integration works

Wiser offers a number of product recommendation widgets to Shopify stores. With the PageFly integration, you can add certain widgets to your new product pages and some to the other.

We are explaining how and which ones, here.

1. Wiser product recommendations on product pages

In the product pages, the Wiser personalized product recommendations depend on the products you choose in your Page Settings modal.

Select the recommendations widget in the PageFly page dashboard. Easily drag and drop the element in the editor to preview different variations and positions. Click on the element to set its parameters to suit your page design.

Once you have dragged the recommendation widget into the editor, it will pull all product recommendations of the assigned product on your live page.

Note: One page allows only one widget of each type.

  • Related products
  • Recommended products
  • Also bought

2. Wiser product recommendations for other pages

This is if you want to add product recommendations to your home page, product pages, collection pages, regular pages and blog posts.

How to use the ReConvert and Wiser integration

1. Go to Store Admin -> Apps -> ReConvert.

2. Choose a thank you page template or create a new one.

3. Click on ‘Customize’

4. Select the ‘Left Area’ from the left-hand side menu.

Note: You can also choose to display the Wiser product recommendations in the Right Area of your thank you page.

5. Then click on ‘Product recommendations’ from the sidebar menu.

6. Choose ‘Wiser recommendations’ from the Personalized Recommendations dropdown menu.

7. Add Exclusion Tags - products that you don’t want to display as recommendations.

8. Edit the Title for the section where you will display product recommendations.

9. Click Save.

And you’re all set!

Now you can recommend related products to your customers on the thank you page.

About Back in Stock - Restock Alerts App

Back in Stock - Restock Alerts is a Shopify app that allows you to set up automated restock messages to be sent to interested shoppers via email, SMS, web push notification or Facebook Messenger.

With this app, you can set up a subscription widget on unavailable products that shoppers can subscribe to. Once the product is back-in-stock, the shopper receives a well-crafted message to the communication channel they subscribed to, bringing them back to the store.

How to Integrate Back in Stock and Wiser

1. On your Back in Stock app dashboard, click on Integrations.

2. On the Integrations page, click on the WISER card.

3. This will show a field to enter the API key from the WISER dashboard.

4. Go to your WISER dashboard. Click on integrations to find the API key.

5. Click on ‘copy to clipboard’ to copy the API key.

6. Go back to your Back in Stock dashboard and paste the API key within the field.

7. Click ‘Save’ to enable the integration.

Your integration is now complete!

  • Frequently Bought Together actually reads your past orders and calculates based on that. Then it shows the products which were ordered together mostly.

4 - Show Loox Reviews in recommendations -

Now if you are using Loox app for your reviews, you can ask us to add it in recommendations widgets. So many times we want to show our product reviews in recommendations widget so now if you a Loox user as well, its easier to add reviews too. Reachout to us and we will do it for you.

5 - Show Compare at Price -

Show the compare price as well in recommendations, strike through along with the usual price of product. Compare price will comeup from the product details that you add in admin.

4 - Enhanced Settings Panel with Preview

  • We have added some more settings in Customize Widgets option so that you can even show variants in recommendations widgets.

  • Copy the public token and paste it within the field on the Wiser dashboard.

How to create a staff account?

To create a staff account, please follow the below process:

Go to Shopify admin >> Settings >> Plans & Permissions >> Add staff account >> Enter the required details >> Send invite.

We can also send you a collaborator access request if you have limited staff member account in your store plan.

How to accept collaborator request?

To accept the collaborator request, please follow the below process:

Go to Shopify admin >> Settings >> Plans & Permissions >> Collaborator Account >> Here you will see the request from Expert Village Media , and accept it.

What happens if I change my theme?

If you change your theme, then the widgets will disappear from your website, then you need to install the snippet in your new theme to show the widgets on your site.

How you will add the snippet?

Please go to Wiser app’s dashboard >> Click on “More” tab from the left bar >> Click on “Install” >> Choose your new theme and submit.

Do you provide customizations?

Yes we do provide customizations for our widgets to match the design with your store’s design. If any additional customizations are required, we can evaluate it and tell you accordingly if it will be Free or paid service. It depends on the level of customization.

How to customize the wiser widgets as per your theme?

We have given basic options in the “Customize Widgets” to change the color, size of the heading, title, etc. If there’s any customization that cannot be done through the given options, you can also add CSS for it in the app in the “Add Custom CSS” box, please check the below screenshot for your reference


If you don't know how to write a CSS, you can just contact support, and will do it for you.

If I reinstall the app, I will get all my widgets & settings back?

We remove all the data if users uninstall the app. Our app automatically enables few widgets for you so no need to worry , as soon you will reinstall the app, it will start showing widgets on your store.

NOTE: Manual Recommendations will not come automatically as we add products manually for it, If you want your old recommendations back, you can contact us on support@expertvillagemedia.com will provide you a list of all your manual recommendations.

How can I uninstall the app & remove any leftover code of your app?

We are going to miss you:(

To uninstall the app first you need to delete the code from your files by following the below process:

Go to Online store >> Themes >> Action >> Edit Code

Here in the left sidebar search for Index.liquid, product.liquid, cart.liquid & collection.liquid file.

You need to delete {% include "recently-viewed-products" %} from these files and save the changes. Also, search for "recently-viewed-products.liquid" snippet and delete it as well.

Now just delete the app from your store.
